NAR's existing home sales jumped to yet another record high. Sales were up 2.0% to 5.59 million, a high not seen in over eight years. In February 2007 existing home sales were 5.79 million. Sales are 10.3% higher than a year ago. Existing home sales have been above their year previous amounts for ten months in a row now.
He has defined politicians as puppets of lobbyists. Additionally he has 11 billion votes that say he can get the job done. I owe no allegiance and I can get the job done. That is pretty much what appears to be the answer to a disillusioned electorate. If the sophisticated challenge Trump, what can they provide as an alternative. Who else can give kids a ride in a personalized helicopter. Trump has nothing to offer most of the country, but remember his follow up to not raising the minimum wage?
because hiking it would hurt America's competitiveness globally. That's what he said. What I heard was " you know Chuck, I cherish the minimum wagers. I love them". The only thing they have is the recognition of getting by on poverty wages. They know the value of a dollar and how to live on less than nothing. I am not going to take that away from them, I love and respect them. These are real people and they know there's not a chance in the world their kids want a hundred thousand dollar college debt. They have learned the value of money.
Stop using jobs as a synonym for making a living. Stop giving politicians a break and define a job in terms of a living wage. Jobs above a certain wage can actually support a living. But providing jobs is the end of the obligation for politicians. Making a living wage for workers should be the employment obligation of politicians. 42% of jobs won't support a living so that should be the unemployment rate. People don't want jobs, they want a living. Then it would be apparent what kind of trouble we are really in. A 42% unemployment rate might cause a demand for action.
Can't afford to cut costs and save money anymore ! We can't survive at the complex level cutting costs is pushing the country. Saving money Is as soon as a job is done cut workers. Including skilled productive hard to find workers. We need to keep those people at our expense until there is a job for them, let them be the investment account. Getting rid of workers is forcing faith in systems because the systems allow cost cutting. Not faith in systems because they are infallible. Redundancy is a travesty because it conflicts with cutting costs.
Do you remember when real reporters existed? Those were the days before the Clinton regime concentrated the media into a few hands and turned the media into a Ministry of Propaganda, a tool of Big Brother. The false reality in which Americans live extends into economic life.
The Federal Reserve Industrial Production & Capacity Utilization report shows industrial production soared by 0.6% as manufacturing came alive with a 0.8% increase. This is the largest gain since November 2014.
I posted earlier : "BTW: Not a chance for his jobs boasting to bring living wages". Today Aug 16 he was the topic on "Meet the Press". Chuck Todd asked Trump what he would do about the minimum wage. Trump said he would keep it around where it is, we have to be competitive. Is he going to bring jobs back by undercutting over seas labor. I think this signals his entire plan. Status quo conservative. Especially status quo because as a mega business man he has to or should know that it is impossible to change so many things so fast.
Seasonally adjusted retail sales rose more than expected in July, and revisions to May and June sales added another 0.4% to the running total. The Advance Retail Sales Report for July (pdf) from the Census Bureau estimated that our seasonally adjusted retail and food services sales totaled $446.5 billion, which was an increase of 0.6 percent (±0.5%) from June's revised sales of $443.9 billion
A price for a product includes cost plus a reason for production. The price is presented and accepted as fair. Consider during the course of production costs savings occur as a result of efficiency, robots or whatever. Who should benefit? Remember that the initial price was presented as a fair representation of costs and profit. If there are savings it seems ethically they should be passed on to the consumer by adjusting the price. Traditionally any realization of extra profit is a windfall to the producer. But there are circumstances that can expand profits beyond imagination.
